The 2017 Victorian Senior of the Year Awards nomination period now open

From Chris Reidy Manager Victorian Seniors Festival

The nomination period for this year’s awards runs from now until 23 June 2017.

The awards acknowledge older Victorians who volunteer to assist, support and encourage others in their communities. There are a number of award categories recognising seniors as mentors, educators, role models, leaders, or behind the scenes workers.

The awards are the Premier’s Award for Victorian Senior of the Year, the Promotion of Multiculturalism Award, the Healthy and Active Living Award, the Veteran Community Award and the COTA Victoria Senior Achiever Awards. The Age-Friendly Victoria Award recognises an organisation or a business that creates age-friendly communities, promotes active ageing, or improves quality of life for older Victorians.

The 2017 awards will be presented in October at a ceremony at Government House.
